We were told to bring in all work which we've completed for our final major projects, as we only have 2 1/2 weeks left of the project the tutors as well as ourselves needed to see how much work had been completed up to this point. It was good for me personally to get all my work out and see what i had so far, having the small group crit. with piers meant you got feedback on your work/ideas and artists are all given to help you out and to help the progression and flow throughout the chosen project.
We spent approx. 1 1/2 hours talking about each of our works, thats about 20 minutes on each, we then had a look around freely to view other pieces work. As i class we have developed so well, at the beginning of the year i think everyone was very shy with their creativity levels, some were also very much set in A level mode (me particularly) however the 8 week rotation relaxed us a little and once settled into a chosen area it was easier to shake that mode of and create/focus on something that was really of interest to me, so much so i want to do my very best interview wise, interviews are great practice for speaking up for yourself and your work.
I have enjoyed this project so far, i have been comfortable in what I've been doing so far so for the next 2 1/2 weeks that we have left i really need to think outside the box and really look into different ideas and techniques that I'm not as comfortable with. I think my work was very scattered in the book, i need to organise it more, as i was in a haste to get work done i didn't think too much into the layout, i realise this is a big deal as to how it comes across to people so i will work on this in the future.
I also added a few more pages to my portfolio in and took two of the weaker ones out for my Portfolio for St.Martin's tomorrow, i couldn't be anymore nervous than i am already!
