Yesterday i had my St.Martin's portfolio review, we were told to come in for 9.30 and place our portfolio's down on the tables. There were around 30 girls in the group for 9.30, we were then told to come back for half 12 once they'd decided who they wanted to interview.
I met a girl called Eve that morning, we went to the British museum looked around the place and just kept ourselves busy until the time came to see if we'd got through to the next round.
I was very nervous, knowing that everyone's style is so different and St.Martin's is so competitive i knew that getting through to interviews would be a big deal even if i didn't get accepted after the interview at least i knew they liked my work enough to take time to get to know me as a person.
Eve and I both got interviews, i was so shocked, around 13 people out of the 30 got interviews, mine was in an hours time so we sat down a reviewed what we could say and what they could ask.
They were really nice, i didn't feel under pressure as i thought i would. The interviewers introduced themselves, told me they'd taken pictures of pieces of my work then asked me various questions which were repeated to all the people being interviewed. Thankfully it went well, i kept a smile on my face and i was polite and honest, i didn't feel under pressure as i thought i would.
A few weeks now until i find out whether i have a place or not, if i don't get a place at least i can say i was interviewed for St.Martins Textile's ey.
